Internal Vice President- Hoolyn

As Internal Vice President, I get to preside over all the committees, making sure that everything is ok. Making sure things run smoothly. I have to plan the banquet at the end of the semester. It's not so demanding, but there's a lot of pressure in managing how everything will be set up. You have to work closely with the president. Knowing what he or she wants to accomplish for the semester. When the president is absent from meetings, its my job to take over. It's easier to take over when you know the presidents agenda before hand. Over all, it's still a great experience, even with the ups and downs.

External Vice President- Adrian

This position requires one to be responsible for all external club activities. This include mainly searching for volunteering events and handling the issues between the club and other volunteering organizations who provides volunteering opportunities, with the help of the Events Secretary. This position also entitles you to be the chairperson of the Club Row committee. Besides that, other responsibilities include being the header of at least 2 events, presiding at meetings in the absence of the President and Internal Vice President and performing such other duties as requested by the President or the Faculty Advisors. Being an external vice-president of an active and large club has its own challenges but with the right time-management and acknowledging the valuable experiences and skills obtained during the course of this position, it can be a wonderful and enjoyable voyage.

Recording Secretary- Henny

This position is pretty easy. The main thing I have to do is to attend every Tuesday's board meeting and take down the minutes. The minutes include most of the comments, complaints, motions and changes in events etc. I will have to send it to the advisors and the president by the proceeding Wednesday. I also compile all the meeting minutes in a file so that for AGS records. The AS and ICC reps also give me the agenda for their respective meeting and a brief report on it. It takes at most an hour of time commitment every week. You have to be familiar with Microsoft word, and of course it is not a problem as nowadays most people are familiar with it. I also got to take the attendance of the board members during the board meetings and the general meetings.

Student Relations Officer (2)- Ben & Chihiro

This position is to help members if they have questions and problems. If I am unable to solve the problems, I bring that to board meeting and discuss. I think it is easier position than other positions. It is good position for the member who becomes a board member for the first time because it is not hard work. I understand AGS better after my experience in this organization.

Newsletter Editor- Nairi

As the newsletter editor, I am in charge of publishing at least 3 newsletters this semester and therefore serve as the chair of the newsletter committee. My job entails writing, editing and formatting the articles in a newsletter like fashion. The first newsletter I published took a lot of time to create; yet the second newsletter took much less time as I had already learned from my experience of the first newsletter. As the newsletter editor I also have to go to all the board meetings and general meetings (like all the other board members) as well as head 2 events. So far this has been hard work, yet it has been fun at the same time. If you love writing and designing newsletters this is a great opportunity for you! I'm not journalism major and you don't have to be, but if you are it's even better. Not only will you learn a lot and have a great experience yet you'll also have a plus on your application when applying to universities.

Historian- Yunhee

This position is harder than I thought and I think most board members feel the same way. My duty is to take pictures at the AGS event but it can also be any event that is related to AGS. For example, my priority events to take pictures are the weekend volunteer events and other events I take pictures are on AGS social events, general meeting, evening meeting, board member meeting, club row, AGS conference, committee meeting, and more. To take as many pictures as I can, i need to participate a lot of events. So far, I volunteered about 70 hours, and it is a lot of work. I also need to record video camera for the banquet. For it is my duty and i need to show it to everyone, honestly, i get very much pressures. Most people do not want to be taken pictures and recording in video camera. for it is very important to me, sometimes i need to force them to participate at taking pictures and recording video camera. so it might not be enjoyable job for historian. I think historian needs a leadership to make many people to follow his/her direction but after all, the most important thing of historian and any other board member is to have a AGS spirit. If they are not proud of being a part of AGS, or somehow not motivated enough, it would be very hard tasks for them.

I'm in charge of historian committee. For my committee's requirement is not much, i have about 40 people in my committee. I email them often to keep in touch with them. Historian members' requirement is to take at least three pictures per event and one event would fulfill the requirement. A historian needs to contact each historian committee member and make sure they understood what their requirement is and every time any member submit their pictures, the historian needs to submit those to the website coordinator to post those on our AGS website. the historian needs to gather historian committee meetings regularly to discuss about pictures. Overall, as one of the board members, the historian needs to go to every Tuesday's meeting and participate in that meeting ACTIVELY. With doing all requirements as an AGS member, plus, you will need to be a header for at least two events and participate at least two social events. As a historian, it is required to be good at time management. Even if you work, you wouldn't be able to work on Saturday, which are most socials and events are on because you need pictures. You will spend at least two hours everyday on a historian job. I can't say how fun to be a historian, but as a board member, yah, it's pretty fun i can say because you get a chance to participate in AGS more actively. I think it's fun to be in board member meeting. Also, you will gain knowledge on how a club works out, and you will understand the AGS much better. NEVER FORGET TO TAKE PICTURES. It will be helpful to carry camera and camcorder everyday.

Evening Member Representative- Jay

This position is mainly for informing all the same information as a morning meeting. However, the number of general members is much fewer than morning one and it relaxing atmosphere make general members feel good. Since an evening meeting representative speaks before general members, so it is suitable for the person who likes talking before people. Even if you are a foreign student, do not worry about it. It helps you improve speech skill.

AS representative- Jessica & Lisa

I put in about 6 hours a week and I had fun with my position because I got to attend the A.S. meetings and it helped me learn a lot about our school and what students are doing to help better our school. There are 2 of us so we alternately attend the AS meetings.

Website Coordinator- Derek

Website coordinator is responsible for maintaining the chapter website, with exception of the hours web page, which is maintained by the Hours Secretary. The responsibilities of website coordinator is making sure that information on the website are up to date. Knowledge of the HTML is of course mandatory. The board members appoint this position.

ICC Representative

My main duty is to attend the ICC meeting alternately with the other ICC Rep and report the matters in the ICC meeting on the next AGS board meeting. I think this task was not hard. Through this job, I come to know the variety of the student clubs in SMC and how ICC organizes them. Also, In addition, every Tuesday board meeting was much interesting for experiencing a kind of parliamentary procedure and figuring out what on the earth is AGS more clearly, closely, and positively.
